Fabric - fine heavy chiffon sari and blouse (synthetic polyester ling) and silky satin petticoat
Sari - This is an exceptional sari made of really heavy but fine chiffon. It is very ornately embellished with masses of iridescent green and blue sequins, masses of beads and finished with sparkling crystals stones. The blouse is embellished front and back and has a row of long dangling beads that just sit above the naval as do the sleeves. Some of these have come off completely. There are a number of pulls particularly under the arms where the fabric has snagged on the embellishment work so this will require a little attention. The sari itself has a wide border of embellishment on the hem leading to a more detailed palla. This also has beadwork dangling on the corners. The inside of the embellishment is trimmed with a crushed organza wide braid to secure the beadwork and prevent it snagging.
As you can imagine with a sari as fine as this with such delicate beadwork, Some of the beadwork has come off or is loose, I guess this applies more to the dangling beadwork. This can easily be repaired by moving the remaining beadwork around. I paid over £300 for this sari and it was worn once only.
